January 8: I See a Pattern Developing…
Come play with stamp-based printing, no fancy equipment required. Leave with a unique piece of fabric, designed by… you! Use our stamps or try your hand at making one of your own. We’ll provide a foam block to carve, ink, one piece of fabric for each artist and some paper to practice on. See finished pieces and take home a materials list and instructions, so you can try it later too. Perfect for items like tea towels, curtains, t-shirts, pillows, canvas bags and more!
How do you make art without a paintbrush, pencil or pens? How would you create an image with the random things in front of you? Sometimes manufactured tools just don’t work for a certain project or because they are looking for a way make their own, distinct marks. Handmade tools allow for to a much wider and more unpredictable range of visual qualities. Come try out our alternatives and handmade tools, make your own and put your mark on the world… (or just on the paper supplied, please).
